More about what inspires us...

Ras Kevin Levi

Ras Levi of Bloodlines...

"The inspiration behind my music is my day to day life and all the lovely people and the beautiful creation surrounding me". "Great artists like Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Freddy MacGregor and definitely my children they make me wanna do what I'm doing.." "I want to see myself travelling around the world spreading Jah message and singing for the people, being a good inspiration for the younger generation, seen!"

Lennox Tom - My music comes from within and was born when I was born even though I did not know that at birth, my mother was a good traditional music singer. I am an African, proudly South African.  I got inspired by many people in Afirica and abroad and I grew up listening to the likes of Makeba's, Masikela's, Mcinga's, Mahlthini, to overseas people like Mr Clapton, Toto and  Mr Marley can't mention 4rm all hence am not a genre artist.  In my Future, Wow, I don't know what it holds but if God can or will grant me with the privilege of more days in this world  I like to represent my country and touch and bless some souls where ever I can enrich in the world. Lastly to all those supported and believed in me, my time is now someone plz turn on the light. God bless South Africa

We have constantly stated that we want our music to be heard all over the globe. We are story tellers, we want all the world to know our stories, our stories are interesting and we tell them in a very joyful manner. We want to tell Africans who do not reside in Africa anymore about the things they are missing out on and want to invite non Africans to this beautiful continent so that they can witness the beautiful things that we are telling them about.

Luke Parker  - My music on this collection is inspired by my love for African folk music. Whilst in Gambia, West Africa, I was lucky enough to receive Kora lessons from Jali Hammay, a fantastic musician of the Mandinka tribe, and a genuine griot connected by culture and roots to the old Malian empire. I've been lucky enough to have been involved in fantastic music projects in a variety of places around the world. And that’s exactly where I want my music to take me, to four more corners of the globe, to play with more open-hearted musicians of other cultures. What a gift to be able to do so.  I feel connected to all the musicians I've played with.

Barney Rattle - Our projects go way back and meeting my musician friends in South Africa was life changing. This has been, and continues to be, the most incredible and sometimes, equally challenging journey. We have found great passion from eachother (speaking for myself anyway), enjoyment from our music and continue with inspiring new ways to bring our music to the world. We have grown together and continue to do so on life's journey. Every musician I meet inspires me in some way and now with our new inspirational team we are embarking on a new chapter of our evolution and are preparing various new projects for mainstream release, coming soon! That's inspiring. Big Shout out and thanks to fellow producers, Jason Orozco, Andy Seidler and Giancarlo Morrocco who have been major contributors on our music catalogue.

Abavuki... WE HAVE A GOOD AFRICAN STORY TO TELL
Our inspiration comes from the many things that we are exposed to everyday; the dynamics of
where we come from, especially the vibrancy of the township we come from and the ones we visit, the different genres that we listen to, current affairs, our African stories as told by Africans not only through music but through different art forms,  customs and traditions, our vision and future goals.
